taking her first step....

Anna took her first step on October 25th.  She was 10 months and 2 days.

She thinks she is so big now she can take a step.  She usually crawls most of the time.  She is the fastest little thing.  I looked up one day and she had left me in my bathroom.  I looked for her everywhere, she had crawled all the way down the hall and into Kory's bathroom.  She is too funny.  When I finally found her, she was jsut smiling and playing with the toilet paper (her new found hobby).

one tough little boy

Jack was on his way to get milk with his Dad, when he slipped and fell in his cowboy boots.  He slit his eye open right below his eye brow. Kory ended up having to take him to the ER.  I met them at the ER.  He wasn't even crying when I got there. We were there for a while and finally they came and cleaned it out and put glue and strips on his eye.  It was so sad.    He was one tough little cookie and let them mess with his eye with no fight.

Pamela's Soccer Game and Sci-Port

Polly and Chris took Jack to his favorite place. Sci-Port.  He came back to Mimi and Pop Pop's house acting and looking like a puppy dog.  It was one of the cutest thing's I have seen in a long time.  Pamela was a princess and Elizabeth was a kitty cat.

Here we all are getting ready to watch "Pamela, the All-Star"

so tired....

We usually come in and get a snack and start cooking supper.  Well, little Miss Anna has been so tired this week.  I think she has to be growing.  I just loved this picture.  I went to see if she needed some more mandarin oranges, and this is what I found.  My sweet little girl sound asleep in her chair.  Jack told me to "shhh, we don't want to wake her up".

Standing and Talking

Anna is standing up by herself while holding on to things.  She loves to say "Mamamamama" and "Dadadadada".  Jack believes she can say his name, I am not so sure.  However, it does kind of sound like "Bubaba", so maybe she is.  She is the sweetest little thing.  We love her so much!
You have 2 bottom teeth....  :)

all smiles for a little while....

Making Mud Pies...and throwing them at mom....

Jack loved when we worked in the flower beds.  He figured out fast how to make a mud pie.  He also figured out I squealed like a little girl when he got dirt on me.  He loved this and ended up sending me running for the safety inside the house.  :)

He was mad when I left him for safety.

A big brother

Jack, Anna and Mom
I am very lucky to have been blessed with  two sisters and a little brother.  However, I thought it would be so cool to have a big brother.  Someone to watch out for me. I am so glad that Anna has Jack for her big brother.  He loves her dearly and is constantly watching out for her.  He talks to her all the time, it is really sweet.  Every morning she looks all around until she finds him.  He will say "Heyyyyyyyy (it is actually that long will his little southern drawl) Anna" and then just talk to her about 5 minutes.  I just love it.  He is a sweet heart.

Packing her bags and saying goodbye

This weekend we went to Shreveport.  A trip to Shreveport that started off like any other.  However, we all knew in the back of our heads this one was different.  Not a terrible different, just a bittersweet one.  These were the last days mom has at her own house for at least a month.  She headed with Dad to Houston on Monday after school.
I imagine this is somehow like a mom feels sending her son to war.  I am filled with love, pride, and sadness.  Love because, well, she is my mom.  The worlds best mom.  The person that loves me more than any other (well besides maybe my Dad and Kory).  Pride beacuse I know she is going to fight like no other.  She will be fighting to get home to her babies and her babies babies (the grands).  Sadness because I have seen what chemo does to her.  I will not go any further.  It just hurts me when my mom hurts.
BUT mostly I need to be filled with HOPE.  The hope that God has placed in all of my family's hearts.  He will take care of her.  She will survive.

My girl, me, and a princess to be.....

Well, call me crazy (because I know I called my SIL crazy when she told me was going to watch the wedding live), but we (Anna and I) got up to watch the Royal Wedding at 3 AM this morning.  However, only one of us was really awake (Anna mostly slept and gave me a smile every now and then).   I just thought that this would be a once in a lifetime experience and I would love to tell Anna that we shared together (even if she was asleep for the majority of the time).  Having a girl is a wonderful thing and I am loving every second of it.  Now, don't get me wrong I love being a mom to the most wonderful boy in the world too.  However, there are just some things Jack does not want to do because he is BOY, not a gul (girl) as he tells me daily.  I believe watching a wedding at 3 in the morning would go under that category of things he would NOT like to do.
Anna and I had a GREAT time and we loved looking at all the fashionable and not-so fashionable hats.

My FAVES!

This would go under the category as NOT-SO fashionable.
Oh-So Fashionable

Kory and Little Kory

These two boys are my pride and joy.  I am very proud to have Kory as my husband.  He is a wonderful friend and provider.  I love him more everyday that I am married to him.  Jack is my JOY.  He is definitely a handful these days.  Sometimes when I am at my wits ends with him and being so busy, he will say something that will just crack me up and have me laughing so hard I almost cry.  It is at those times I realize I just need to calm down and enjoy this crazy ride called "life".
